Leading the transformation
Founded in 1986,
Synchrogenix takes a unique team approach to projects, which allows us to draw from the varied skills and backgrounds of our writers and editors. This approach also enables us to bridge all functional areas within drug development, with the singular focus of regulatory/medical documentation.
That expertise led us in 2014 to become part of Certara, the industry’s leading biosimulation company, providing technology–enabled solutions to inform and address critical decisions in drug development. We have also recently acquired ClinGenuity, the only artificial intelligence-assisted medical writing service in the pharmaceutical industry. ClinGenuity’s transformative technology will help clients to better meet global transparency and disclosure requirements. Combined with our unparalleled knowledge and insight, these synergies make us the consultancy of choice for life science and biotechnology companies worldwide.
We have assembled a team whose members are among the most well-respected in our industry. They bring decades of experience to our clients and embody a culture of accountability, mentorship, and growth.
Kelley Kendle, a long-tenured Synchrogenix executive, possesses a keen understanding of the regulatory landscape, coupled with a strong focus on client relationships. Ms. Kendle has been instrumental in developing services and cultivating staff to address our industry’s needs. With more than 13 years of experience in regulatory writing consulting, she is both an internal and external subject-matter expert. Along with our leadership team, she will drive the company’s strategic growth, business process, and organizational dynamics.
Synchrogenix was founded on the principles of ethical business practices and high-quality work. It is a learning-oriented organization with a strong commitment to the idea that every individual has something to teach and something to learn.
1. ACT WITH INTEGRITY.
Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to do the right thing in every action you take and in every decision you make, especially when no one’s looking. Always tell the truth. If you make a mistake, own up to it, apologize, and make it right. Be impeccable with your word.
2. MAKE QUALITY PERSONAL.
Good is not good enough. Demonstrate a passion for excellence. Take pride in the quality of everything you touch and everything you do. Always ask yourself, “Is this my best work?” Everything you touch has your signature and makes a statement about you. Make sure it’s a statement of excellence.
3. HONOR COMMITMENTS.
There’s no better way to earn people’s trust than to be true to your word. Do what you say you’re going to do, when you say you’re going to do it. This includes being on time for all phone calls, appointments, meetings, and promises. If a commitment can’t be fulfilled, notify others early and agree on a new timeframe to be honored.
4. BE THE EXPERT.
Our clients buy our services, but they’re really buying our expertise. Go beyond simply responding to their requests and lead them through the regulatory maze. Help them to be successful by advising and guiding them, anticipating and avoiding potential pitfalls, and charting the most effective path for them to reach their goals.
5. BE FLEXIBLE.
Be willing to go outside your comfort zone. Think differently and be open to new opportunities and challenges. Be prepared to wear many hats, including trying on new perspectives or points of view. The more flexible your skill set, the more valuable you are as a colleague, leader, and contributor. Be adaptable.
6. WALK IN YOUR CLIENT’S SHOES.
Understand both your internal and external clients’ world. Know their challenges and frustrations. Show “business empathy” by thinking from their perspective. The better you understand their goals and how you can help them, the more effectively you can anticipate and meet their needs.
7. PRACTICE BLAMELESS PROBLEM-SOLVING.
Focus your attention on developing solutions, rather than pointing fingers or dwelling on problems. Identify lessons learned and use those lessons to improve your processes so that you don’t make the same mistake twice. Get smarter with every mistake. Learn from every experience.
8. LISTEN GENEROUSLY.
Listening is more than simply “not speaking.” Give people your undivided attention. Be present and engaged. Quiet the noise in your head and let go of the need to agree or disagree. Suspend your judgment and be curious to learn more, rather than jumping to conclusions. Listen with care and with empathy. Above all, listen to understand.
9. SPEAK STRAIGHT AND SPEAK UP.
Speak honestly in a way that’s focused on solutions. Make clear and direct requests. Be willing to ask questions, share ideas, or raise issues that may cause conflict when it’s necessary for team success. Address issues directly with those who are involved or affected.
10. THINK TEAM FIRST.
Work together. Don’t let your ego get in the way of doing what’s best for the team. Be humble and be willing to ask for help, rather than being a martyr. It’s not about you. Use the collective knowledge and experience of the team to create the best outcome. Assume that we can and we know, until you know that we can’t or don’t know. We’re all accountable for the team’s performance.
11. THINK AND ACT LIKE AN OWNER.
Make decisions by asking yourself, “What would I do if this were my company? What would I do if this were my own money? Will this help the organization to succeed? How can I make this a great place to work? How can I help others to be successful?”
12. DO THE JOB COMPLETELY THE FIRST TIME.
Don’t just check the box. The goal is to get things done completely, not simply to get them done. While we always want to work with a sense of urgency, sometimes we need to slow down in order to speed up. Our job is to do it both quicker and better than our competitors.
13. TAKE OWNERSHIP.
Take personal responsibility for making things happen. Start with “Yes.” Respond to every situation by looking for was that we can do it, rather than explaining why it can’t be done. Be resourceful and show initiative. Don’t make excuses or wait for others to solve the problem. See issues through to completion.
14. SET AND ASK FOR EXPECTATIONS.
Create clarity and avoid misunderstandings by discussing expectations upfront. Establish mutually understood objectives and deadlines for all projects, issues, and commitments with both internal and external clients. Where appropriate, get feedback to ensure total clarity and agreement.
15. CELEBRATE SUCCESS.
Recognizing people doing things right is more effective than pointing out when they do things wrong. Regularly extend meaningful acknowledgment and appreciation—in all directions throughout the organization.
16. ASSUME POSITIVE INTENT.
Work from the assumption that people are good, fair, and honest, and that the intent behind their actions is positive. Set aside your own judgments and preconceived no¬tions. Give people the benefit of the doubt.
17. LEAD BY EXAMPLE.
Bring a calming presence. The best way to influence others is through your own example. Help others to shine. Take responsibility, both formally and informally, to coach, guide, teach, and mentor others. Be the change you want to see.
18. DELIVER RESULTS.
While we appreciate effort, we reward and celebrate results. Set high goals, use measurements to track your progress, and hold yourself accountable for achieving those results. Be persistent and follow up on everything. Finish the work. We’re responsible for completing things, not simply working on them or putting them in motion.
19. PLAY LIKE A PRO.
Take pride in your work and function at the highest level in everything you do. The way you dress, the way you speak, the appearance of the office, the quality of your work, and the service you provide all demonstrate your attitude toward being a pro. We’re building a first-rate, top-quality, industry-leading organization. Make sure everything you do supports that effort.
20. KNOW THE GOAL.
Ask enough questions to get absolute clarity about the goal or the problem you’re trying to solve. Know what success looks like for the other person or the client. Most wasted effort comes from confusion about the goal. Know the goal with certainty before you begin to work.
21. BE MORE THAN JUST A COLLEAGUE.
Our relationships go deeper than simply being team¬mates at work. Learn about your colleagues and create the kind of community you want to be part of. Whether it’s a kind word during a tough stretch, a friendly smile each morning, or a helping hand in stress¬ful times, show your compassion.
22. TAKE INTELLIGENT RISKS.
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Growth and learning don’t come from playing it safe. They come from a thoughtful and intentional willing¬ness to try the unknown. Conquer your fear and be willing to get uncomfortable or to ask for help.
23. EMBRACE AND LEAD CHANGE.
What got you here is not the same as what will get you to the next level. Regularly reevaluate every aspect of your job to find ways to improve. Don’t be satisfied with the status quo. “Because we’ve always done it that way” is not a reason. The better and faster you are at driving toward change together, the more successful we’ll become. Changes provide us with a unique opportunity for competitive advantage.
24. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS.
Every-thing we do is built on trust, and trust is built on relationships. Make smart decisions that enhance long-term relationships. This includes our clients, vendors, and your coworkers. Strong relationships enable us to more successfully work through difficult issues and challenging times.
25. COMMUNICATE PERSONALLY.
Pick up the phone. When delivering difficult or complex messages, or in emotionally charged situations, speak “live” versus hiding behind email or voicemail. The best way to build relationships is through real dialogue. We must be more than just a document or a deliverable. Have conversations personally and use email to document.
26. BE SYNCHROGENIX.
We’re all responsible for and benefit from the Synchrogenix image and reputation. Be a brand ambassador and always put your best foot forward. While it’s easy to get bogged down in day-to-day issues, remember the impact we have on people’s lives. We help com¬panies bring life-changing and life-saving therapies to patients. Be proud of the difference we make. Treasure, protect, and promote our reputation.
27. BE PASSIONATE AND POSITIVE.
You have the power to choose your attitude. Choose to be joyful, optimistic, and passionate about what you do. Your attitude is contagious. Spread optimism and positive energy. Demonstrate your passion by approaching every task with energy, focus, purpose, and enthusiasm.
28. THINK AHEAD.
Be prepared for all meetings, calls, and appointments. Be organized and plan your work for maximum efficiency. Solve problems before they happen by anticipating future issues, planning for contin¬gencies, and addressing them in advance. Think things through.
29. CHALLENGE EACH OTHER TO BE GREAT.
Support each other’s success by not accepting medioc¬rity in yourself or your teammates. Look for the best in each other and provide rigorous support, including honest and direct feedback.
30. KEEP PERSPECTIVE.
Remember that the world has bigger problems than even the most difficult chal¬lenges that make up our daily work. Don’t take yourself too seriously or get caught up in your frustrations. Enjoy the people you work with. Smile and laugh every day.
A new era is unfolding.
Synchrogenix is growing, and we are hiring at all of our locations, worldwide. Come write your way to success with us.
